Comfortable Open Sole
Convertible tights can be uncomfortable but not ours, we designed the open sole to be comfortable on or off your foot
The Swedish Stockings 'Olivia' tights that we based our dance tights on, are in the Top 5 tights in the world for durability according to The New York Times Wirecutter
Why sustainable tights?
Each year, 8 billion pairs of tights are produced, worn a few times and then discarded. This contributes to make the clothing industry the second most polluting industry in the world. Landfills everywhere are full of poorly made, cheap non-biodegradable nylon garments-and it’s getting worse.
Nylon yarn, which is currently used to produce most tights, is created from an environmentally harmful petroleum-based manufacturing process that leads to damaging carbon emissions. Not only that, but modern ballet tights are not made to last. These harmful practices in the fashion industry are all too common.
100% Emission Free Production
Swedish Stockings factories only use energy from renewable resources, such as wind or solar. Most of them have their own solar panels, and are producing between 35-80% of their own energy. The remaining energy is derived from a renewable certified third party.
The Swedish Stockings factory, where your ballet tights are made, is zero waste, and waste that cannot be avoided is recycled in order to not fill up landfills or pollute nature.
No harmful chemicals are used in our production, and all dyes are vegan. The factory is also able to re-use 50% of the water in the dyeing process, and the remaining 50% is purified through an ozone disinfection and micro bacteria process, in a specifically designed pool system.
