SUSTAINABILITY

NO NASTIES HERE

Through Imperfect Pointes we want to help dancers make a change for good.

This is the serious bit - we see brands and people taking more and more from the planet instead of reusing what we already have. We feel horrified by the unfolding environmental mess us humans are making.

That's why we decided to make all our apparel from ECONYL® . It looks the same as ordinary nylon, but this incredible fabric is made out of regenerated plastics recovered from our oceans, such as old fishing nets, along with plastic diverted from landfill. It is then turned into recycled nylon. We are all about being responsible - so you can dance stylish with a clear conscience in your Imperfect Pointes future friendly ballet wear.

We can't do everything all at once - we're not perfect, but we are trying to make a difference, one leotard at a time.

WHO MADE MY LEOTARD?

We are proud that every leotard is designed in Manchester by Helen + daughter Layla. All our leotards, unitards and dance tights are then made in a small family run factory in Yorkshire.
This way we know who was involved in every step of the production process. We know exactly what your leotards are made from, and how they are made. We know your balletwear is made under safe working conditions, by lovely people, earning a proper wage.
Our factory team is not just a supplier, they have become our trusted friends. People and planet are an important part of how we run Imperfect Pointes.

REPAIR + REUSE YOUR BALLETWEAR

Imperfect Pointes can help the planet by reusing things and repairing them rather than throwing them away.
Our future friendly balletwear is made to last and be put through rigorous wear and tear.

We are confident that our leotards, unitards and tights will withstand the test of time, but if your balletwear does eventually need a repair - send it back to us, and we will repair it for you free of charge.

The team at ECONYL® are working on ways to be able to close the loop to make the leotards you've finished with back into more fabric in order to keep on reusing the same materials -but until then, when you are ready to part ways with your Imperfect Pointes leotard, think about of giving it a second home.

IMPERFECT BUT NOT DONE YET!

DON'T DUMP IT...

We will take it back and redistribute your leotards through our charity contacts to support those practising ballet is disadvantaged regions. We are committed to keeping our lovely leotards in use for as long as possible to benefit people and planet.
