World Ballet Day 2022 - the sustainable dancewear wrap-up
November 2nd 2022 was World Ballet Day, returning for it's 9th year running. It's always an exciting day as we all get an insider’s view into dance companies around the globe. From morning class and rehearsals, to sneak peeks of upcoming performances, we are fortunate enough to get to watch some of ballet’s biggest stars at work.
Sustainable Dancewear in the Spotlight
During the Royal Ballet livestream for World Ballet day, 3 dancers could be spotted wearing their favourite sustainable ballet leotards and tights.
Nicol Edmonds, First Soloist of the Royal Ballet was wearing his new Modbury Below Knee Tights in Grey. Nicol was a key collaborator in the creation of these new men's dance tights, giving input on the fit and shape to create the perfect pair of capri tights for ballet.
Annette Buvoli, Soloist of the Royal Ballet, was featured wearing her favourite ballet leotard, the Alexandria Long Sleeve Leotard in River and Oyster. We were honoured that Annette chose one of our leotards to wear for her dance classes during in World Ballet Day.
Scarlett Harvey an Aud Jebsen Young Dancer of the Royal Ballet, wore our Carioca Leotard in River and Oyster to warm up with during the first class of the day and looked fantastic in her sustainable dancewear. The Carioca leotard style is being retired at the end of this year so make sure you get your hands on one before they're all gone!
World Ballet Day 2021 - The making of an icon
After last year's world ballet day, our Tuscany leotard became an icon after last year's WORLD BALLET DAY, when it was beamed around the globe as part of the live streaming of the Royal Ballet rehearsals. This sporty ballet leotard style has a comfortable half-zip front which can be worn up or down when dancing and features an amazing invisible mesh back, suitable for all skin tones.
